The pharmacy wholesale market is highly competitive, with increased pressure on margins, particularly for the independent pharmacists whose business is threatened by multiple pharmacy chains, supermarkets and drugstores.

AAH supplies most of the independent pharmacies in the UK with a range of services and products, and wanted to increase the loyalty from customers who are predominantly independent pharmacies.

Gravitas proposed an issues-led press office, positioning AAH as the 'go-to’ wholesaler that supports pharmacy business, in addition to supplying products and services.Key areas of HCP media outreach include corporate comment on incoming legislation, and impending changes to healthcare provision, and educational comment from marketing services.

This is supported by consumer outreach, to drive the consumer into the pharmacy during times of peak awareness - when national charities are running campaigns that involve the pharmacist as a healthcare advisor. Consumer media outreach is performed around Diabetes Week, No Smoking Day, Know your Numbers Week, Psoriasis Awareness Month, and Asthma Awareness Week among others.
