Due to the success of last year’s Think About Your Eyes roadshow we’ve hit the road once again to get everyone in the UK to practise safe sun this summer.
This year’s campaign is all about encouraging people to protect their eyes from UV rays and making them aware of damage caused from too much exposure to the sun.
We’ve now reached the half way mark of the roadshow and so far have stopped at some of the UK’s UV hotspots, joined by local independent opticians, some local celebs and trusty eye mascots, “The Protectors” – all captured by local media and boosted on social media, including Periscope.
First stop was Cardiff outside the wonderful Millennium Centre where we were joined by former Britain’s Got Talent contestant, Nathan Wyburn, and ITV Wales who interviewed our campaign optician Andy Hepworth.
Next we went to Bristol, joined by the fantastic Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards and independent optician, Gordon Batham. Both were interviewed for Heart Radio and TV channel Made in Bristol. The Bristol Post also quickly uploaded the campaign onto their website to help us spread the word.
Continuing the roadshow we made our way to Bath, Eddie and The Protectors still in tow, and were then joined by another independent optician, Hannah Armstrong, and The Mayor. We managed to squeeze in some great photos at Bath Abbey before torrential downpour!
Topped off by our visits to Wolverhampton, Blackpool and Leeds and boosted by our national and consumer coverage in titles like You Magazine (Daily Mail), Woman & Home Feel Good You, Top Santé, My Weekly and People’s Friend etc. we know we’re really making a difference.
You can keep up to date with the #ProtectorsOnTour by following @TAYEUK all through July.
